Researchers from the Israel Antiquities Authority and the University of Haifa have discovered evidence of human occupation dating back 300,000 years at Fureidis Cave in northern Israel, including stone tools, animal bones, and signs of controlled fire use. The site was inhabited by members of the Acheulo-Yabrudian culture before Neanderthals and modern humans arrived in the region, and its well-preserved condition could provide insights into the mobility, hunting strategies, and social interactions of these early humans.
