American Pride Falls to 25-Year Record Low

American pride has reached a 25-year low, with only 33% of U.S. adults saying they are "extremely proud" to be American—down from 55% when Gallup first measured this in 2001. The decline is driven largely by Democrats (14% extremely proud), women (26%), younger adults (14% of those under 35), and people of color (20%), while Republicans remain significantly more likely to express high pride at 70%. Just over half of Americans now express high levels of pride overall, compared to roughly nine in ten in the early 2000s.
