Apple should be ashamed of its hostile App Store rating system

Apple's App Store rating system is fundamentally flawed because it was modeled after the iTunes Music Store, a design unsuitable for software. Unlike songs, apps vary dramatically in price, rely on in-app purchases, have multiple features requiring technical support, and involve quality considerations beyond personal taste—making the same rating system inappropriate for both mediums.
