Denmark Requires Oral Defenses for Students' Written Work to Counter AI Cheating
Denmark's Ministry of Education has implemented mandatory oral defenses for all high school students' written assignments completed at home, effective immediately, to combat artificial intelligence cheating among approximately 9,000 students in the HF program. The government is also recommending schools use screen-monitoring tools, firewalls, and conduct more assignments on campus under supervised conditions. Education stakeholders welcomed the measures but stressed the need for evolving long-term solutions as AI technology continues to advance rapidly.
