New era for Gibraltar with removal of border controls with Spain

Gibraltar will remove border controls with Spain starting July 15, ending a 118-year-old frontier as part of a post-Brexit agreement between the UK and EU. The removal will allow freedom of movement between the two territories, eliminating lengthy queues during rush hours when approximately 15,000 Spanish workers cross into Gibraltar daily. The change is expected to benefit both communities, particularly residents of the neighboring Spanish town of La Línea de la Concepción who commute to work in Gibraltar.
