One Year of Sponsored Servo Development

Josh Bowman-Matthews, a long-time Servo maintainer funded entirely through community donations, reflected on his first year of sponsored work improving the project's contributor experience. During this period, he nominated 8 new maintainers, reviewed 1,150 pull requests, filed 114 issues for newer contributors (92% resolved), and wrote extensive documentation while also addressing intermittent test failures and supporting major technical initiatives like a JavaScript engine rewrite. Bowman-Matthews emphasized his gratitude for the donations that enabled him to balance meaningful open-source contributions with family time.
