A case report documents transient functional improvements in an advanced Alzheimer's disease patient following administration of 5 grams of psilocybin-containing mushrooms, including restoration of urinary continence, improved mobility, enhanced communication, and increased emotional responsiveness. The improvements emerged within 19 hours post-administration and persisted over subsequent weeks, suggesting that residual functional capacity may become transiently accessible under specific neuromodulatory conditions, though the findings do not indicate disease reversal. This represents one of the first clinical observations of psilocybin's effects in advanced dementia, a stage typically regarded as irreversible.
