Update on Ocean Observatories Initiative

The NSF has reversed its plan to scale back the Ocean Observatories Initiative, announcing it will halt further equipment removal and continue operations with planned maintenance effective immediately. The agency will redeploy the Endurance Array that was removed and will convene an expert panel to develop a sustainable long-term strategy for its ocean observing systems based on stakeholder input.
