What is a Lithium-ion capacitor?

Lithium-ion capacitors are hybrid energy storage devices that combine the positive electrode of Electric Double Layer Capacitors (EDLC) with the negative electrode of lithium-ion batteries, achieving higher energy density than conventional capacitors while maintaining superior safety and power density. Unlike traditional batteries, lithium-ion capacitors charge and discharge rapidly, have excellent cycle life (over 100,000 cycles), and experience minimal performance degradation from repeated use. JTEKT's improved "Libuddy" version extends the operating temperature range to -40°C to 85°C and further enhances power density and service life.
