Zenzizenzizenzic is an obsolete mathematical term coined by 16th-century Welsh mathematician Robert Recorde to denote the eighth power of a number (x⁸), created when powers were expressed in words rather than superscript notation. The term, derived from the medieval Italian word "censo" meaning "squared," represents "the square of squares squaredly" and is now remembered primarily as a linguistic curiosity—it contains more Z's than any other word in the Oxford English Dictionary.
