A WebGPU shader vulnerability allows untrusted websites to freeze Mac computers by submitting an infinite loop compute shader that blocks the GPU and crashes the WindowServer, eventually triggering a kernel panic that forces a restart. The attack works cross-browser on macOS (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) but does not similarly freeze other operating systems. Users only need to click a link to trigger the freeze, making it a significant security risk for Mac users.
